Industrial and Organizational Psychology (B.Sc.)

What drives people to buy certain products, and why do they remain loyal to specific brands over time? How can employees be optimally motivated to ensure long-term business success? Business and psychology are closely intertwined, and you'll learn how to harness this connection. 

How your studies get you ahead: 

• You'll gain fundamental psychological knowledge to understand business actors, lead companies to success, and work on exciting topics like the interplay between AI and psychology. 

• You'll have the opportunity to specialise in areas such as “Führung und Karriereplanung,” “Psychologie der Personalauswahl und -analyse,” “Organisationsentwicklung und Digitaler Wandel,” as well as “Psychologie der Kaufentscheidung.” 

• After graduating, you'll be ready for a variety of roles—always at the intersection of business and psychology. 

You'll start with fundamental knowledge in psychology and business before diving deeper into topics specific to Industrial and Organizational Psychology. These include areas like human resources, psychological diagnostics, and conflict management, as well as practical projects on organisational psychology or communication for solving real-world problems. 

In the Industrial and Organizational Psychology study programme, you'll learn how to apply psychological insights in business practice. after your studies, you'll be equipped to use diagnostic and employment law expertise and integrate your work with management skills. 

Elective areas: In elective areas A and B, you choose two elective modules each. Elective area C: At the start, decide between an internship at a company or modules from elective area C. You complete the internship with a practical reflection. If you choose the modules from elective area C, you must complete all modules in this area. It is not possible to combine the internship with modules from elective area C.

Depending on your personal or professional situation, full-time study is not always easy to manage. That is why we have also developed part-time programmes for all our degrees, which offer flexible and longer study periods. This way, you can study alongside your job or during your time off, whether at home or abroad. The content of the different models is identical. Depending on the study model, we will adjust your tuition fees accordingly. With the part-time variants, your weekly study workload is reduced.

Can't finish your degree in the allotted time? No problem! We will develop the right study model for everyone. If you realise that you need more time, you can easily switch to another study model with three months’ notice before the end of the month. These are our different study models:
