It’s embedded in chatbots, digital assistants, or self-driving cars: angewandte künstliche intelligenz leads to innovative products and services and has achieved spectacular success in business and science. the distance learning programme „angewandte künstliche intelligenz“ offers you a unique combination of methodological foundations and modules for a wide range of applications. in addition to essential fundamentals and core competencies in artificial intelligence, you’ll also acquire general methodological skills. the focus of your bachelor's degree will be on programming, mathematics, statistics, language and image processing, machine learning, robotics, UI/UX, and software development. furthermore, you will dive deeper into future technologies and infrastructure, as well as ethics, data protection, and data security. 

mathematics and statistics, machine learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning are fundamental elements of your studies. additionally, you’ll explore methods in language and image processing, cloud computing, and software engineering. this ensures that you’re well-equipped to apply your technical expertise across all fields of angewandte künstliche intelligenz successfully. in your elective area, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your personal interests and build specific knowledge for targeted career paths – for example, in areas such as robotics and AI, AI in XR, cloud AI, ethical AI, or AI for data analytics.

elective areas: in elective areas a, b, and c, you select two modules each. for elective area d, you’ll decide at the beginning whether to take an internship with a company or complete modules from elective area d. the internship concludes with a practical reflection. if you opt for the modules from elective area d, all modules in this area must be completed. a mix between an internship and elective area d is not possible.

Depending on your personal or professional situation, full-time study is not always easy to manage. That is why we have also developed part-time programmes for all our degrees, which offer flexible and longer study periods. This way, you can study alongside your job or during your time off, whether at home or abroad. The content of the different models is identical. Depending on the study model, we will adjust your tuition fees accordingly. With the part-time variants, your weekly study workload is reduced.

Can't finish your degree in the allotted time? No problem! We will develop the right study model for everyone. If you realise that you need more time, you can easily switch to another study model with three months’ notice before the end of the month. These are our different study models:
